Solidworks modeling practice using sci-fi design
The Astraeus is a one-person spacecraft inspired by the designs of Doug Chiang, Syd Mead, and Joe Johnson.
This project was part of an assignment to learn Solidworks. Since I already knew Solidworks due to my background in engineering, I took the opportunity to have some creative fun by designing and modeling a spaceship based on the work of some of my favorite sci-fi concept artists.
Doing this turned out to be excellent practice for my sketching as well as modeling. I treated the process like a soft transportation design project with the guidance of my professors.
Overall, this project was very enjoyable and I plan on doing similar exercises in the future.
